Max Richter is a post-minimalist composer, originally from Hamelin, Germany but now based in London.
A classically trained musician, he studied composition at the Royal Academy of Music in London under the instruction of experimental Italian composer Luciano Berio. He formed the contemporary classical ensemble Piano Circus, who were signed to Decca and Argo and released five albums. He released his debut solo album, ‘Memoryhouse’ in 2002, to great critical acclaim. He’s gone on to release countless more albums, mixes and even soundtracks. His latest, 'In A Landscape', arrived in 2024. Max Richter will celebrate 10 years of 'Sleep' with two nights at Alexandra Palace London in September 2025.
